Magazine ad for our upcoming iPhone game Hardgore. The original was designed around the ad texts so I did some changes in this non-text cgsociety version. This is also the more refined version because there was no tight deadline looming behind my shoulder, deadlines are such nasty creatures!

I used a rought 3d mockup as a guide for the ship and crew, so at least the perspective should be somewhat correct. Another interesting thing is that due to the deadline I painted most of the image with an old Wacom Intuos 1, the absolute smallest tablet size. I've been using A4 tablet and Cintiq for years now so it was a bit of a culture shock going back to that tiny one. After couple of hours of working it stopped bothering me, except for the coffee stains hehe
